Holscher Design has designed 50 manhole vestibules ready for installation in the city of Oslo. Each of the vestibules is produced in cast iron and weighs around 2 tons each.
Holscher Design’s Manhole vestibules were chosen by Oslo municipality among 80 suggestions at a design competition in 2010. The twisted slits in the vestibules outline the spiral movement of ventilation, ensuring proper draining and protecting the surface against graffiti.
The ornaments and the dynamic, sculptural shape give them character and recognisability. The vestibules are produced at Sabro A/S Foundry and function as both ventilation and access to technical underground installations under the city of Oslo.
Hafslund ASA is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and one of the largest listed power groups in the Nordic region.
Hafslund is Norway’s largest power grid operator, a leading supplier of electricity and a major producer of renewable energy from hydropower and district heating.
The Group is the fifth largest in the Nordic countries in electricity sales and has produced renewable energy from hydropower for more than 100 years.
The vestibules are manufactured in cast iron with reference to the first vestibules in Oslo.
