Come and welcome Denmark's first light rail
Aarhus Letbane opens Saturday, September 23 at Dokk1 with talks, gospel choirs, a little good to eat and the opportunity to test the new light rail train.
The wait has been long, traffic has sometimes been challenged, but now there is light at the end of the rails. Denmark’s first light rail is ready to roll out in the Aarhusian streets.
“Now, the first stage of Letban finally opens, and there is good reason to celebrate. Now it is possible to get around the city in a modern and environmentally friendly manner. The growth area in Skejby with workplaces, education and the new university hospital benefits from the light rail train, and the flag goes to the top when Odder and Djursland connect later, and East Jutland is tied much better together, “says Bent Hansen, regional council chairman.
Aarhus mayor Jacob Bundsgaard is also looking forward to the anniversary of Aarhus and its surroundings.
